
Tamar Kutateladze is a principal researcher at the Dimitri Janelidze Scientific-Research Institute of the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University. Theatre scholar, Doctor of Art History.
In 1989, she graduated from the Faculty of Theatre Studies of the Shota Rustaveli State Institute of Theatre and Film of Georgia (currently the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University). She defended her dissertation on the topic “Theatrical Aesthetics of Director Shalva Gatserelia” (2003).
In 1990–94, she was the head of the literary section of the Georgian Theatre for Young Spectators.
Since 1993, she has been a principal researcher at the Dimitri Janelidze Scientific-Research Institute of the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University.
In 2009-2011, she headed the master's group "The Performing Art of the Actor" at the same university (together with Prof. Sh. Gatserelia).
In 2015-2017, she held the academic position of Assistant Professor at the same university. She lectured in the disciplines: "History of the Georgian Theatre", "Forms of the Performing Art of the Actor".
Since 2015, she has been leading the elective lecture course "Reconstruction of the Performance", "Theatrical Metaphor", "Academic Theatre and Its Performances". In different years, she was the supervisor of a number of bachelor's and master's theses, a reviewer-opponent of bachelor's, as well as bachelor's, master's and dissertation theses.

She has published more than 100 publications, reviews and scientific papers in journals and scientific collections: “Theatre and Life”, “Theatre”, “Theatre and Film Studies”, “Artistic Sciences Studies”, “ART Researches” and others.
Since 2008, she has been a speaker at all local and international scientific conferences of the University of Theatre and Film. She is a co-author of the project “History of Georgian Theatre” (textbook).
Since 2014, she has been a member of the University’s Dissertation, Representative Council and Dissertation Defence Commissions.
