The International Conference of Arts Researchers is a scientific forum in Georgia that unites experts with common interests in the field of art sciences. The conference was founded in 2008 at the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University and has been held annually since then. The conference gained international status in 2020 with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia.
The theme of the conference is art. The reports cover researches in all branches of art and related cultural fields. Therefore, the conference has several sections. We offer a wide range of programs, including theatre studies, film studies, art studies, choreology, musicology, media researches, cultural tourism, and art management.
An average of 60 speakers from Georgian and foreign universities and scientific institutions participate in the conference annually. Among the speakers are professors and doctoral students from the universities of Western Europe, Eastern Europe, the Baltic region, and the former republics of the Soviet Union.
The Conference of Arts Researchers produces an important outcome each year, wherein all conference materials are published in the scientific collection "International Journal of Arts and Media Researches."This journal is unique in that it fully prints all articles in both Georgian and English and encompasses research in all artistic fields. The collection exists in two forms - printed and electronic. This is significant as news of new research spreads worldwide. All the above mentioned increases the results and importance of the conference.
It's worth noting that the National Scientific Library of Georgia named the 2nd (12th) issue of the collection, which has the subtitle "Women and Arts," as one of the best scientific achievements of 2022. The 16th International Conference of Arts Researchers – “Art and the Sociocultural Space” is included in the list of the best scientific achievements of 2023.
Conferences are organized by Professor Nato Gengiuri, the head of the quality assurance service for the Faculty of Arts, Media, and Management.
