Doctor of Art History, Principal Researcher of the Dimitri Janelidze Scientific-Research Institute of the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University. Member of the Dissertation Council of the same university.

1972-1977-years. Studied at the Shota Rustaveli State Institute of Theatre and Film of Georgia; Specialty – Film Critic. 1978-80. She was sent as an intern to the Department of Film Aesthetics and Theory of the All-Union Institute of Cinema History and Theory in Moscow. In 2005, she defended her dissertation at the Scientific Council of the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University on the topic: “Screen Narration in Modern Television and Cinema Art”.

In 1977-2023, she worked at the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University in various positions: 1977-1985 - Laboratory assistant at the Faculty of Film, the Research Laboratory of Psychology of the same institute, the Scientific Sector of the History and Theory of Theatre and Film; 1985-2004 - Junior and then Senior Research Fellow at the Scientific Center of the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University; In 2005 - Leading Research Fellow at the same center. In 2006-2007, she worked as an Assistant Professor at the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University. In 2007-2010, she was one of the researchers of the targeted project "Georgian Cinema Encyclopedia" of the University's Scientific Center. For educational and research purposes at the university, she regularly participated in the compilation and development of auxiliary textbooks-collections published at various times; 2015-2016 – together with university professors M. Lekborashvili and M. Levanidze, she worked on the project of creating a specialty textbook for students of the Film Faculty: “Film Criticism and Theory. Fundamentals of Film Analysis”, the textbook was published in 2016 by “Kentavri”.

2017-2019 – Researcher at the D. Janelidze Scientific-Research Institute of the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film State University, and since 2019 – Principal Researcher. She regularly participates in the projects of the research institute, publishes works in “Art Researches” (NN- 1,2,3,4). She is preparing an auxiliary textbook for students of the Theater and Cinema Department of Cinematography on “Postmodernist Cinematography” for publication.

She has published more than 45 scientific publications in the university’s scientific collections and other professional publications, including: auxiliary textbook “Georgian Directors” (Book 1, 2;) publications in the magazines: “Art”, “Criticism”, almanac “Cinema”, popular science collection “12 Best Films of All Time”, etc. Since 2000, she has been participating in local and international scientific conferences. She has received the award of the Secretariat of the Board of the Georgian Cinematographers’ Union: “Diploma: “Winner of the Competition for the Best Work of 1988 in the Field of Film Studies and Film Criticism”.
