1976-1979. Studied at the German Department of the Faculty of Western European Languages and Literature of TSU, 1979-1982 studied at the F. Schiller University of Jena, Germany (graduated with the rating ‘excellent’). Qualifications: Romance-Germanic Philology, Graduated Germanist, Teacher of German and English Languages.

1983-1985 Postgraduate student at the Department of German Philology, Tbilisi State University, 1986 defended her PhD thesis on the topic “The Influence of Lexical Factors on the Mechanism of Verb Genus in Modern German”.

1992 – Completed her doctoral studies at the University of Leipzig, Germany, and there defended her doctoral thesis on the topic “The Category of Reflexivity in Modern German – Grammatical Status and Forms of Expression”.

1982 graduated from the Jena School of the Arts, Germany, with a degree in vocals (mezzo-soprano).

1988-1990 – Research Fellow at the Department of German Philology, Tbilisi State University. 1990 – 1992 – Senior Lecturer at the Department of German Philology, Tbilisi State University. 1992 – 1995 – Professor at the Department of German Philology, Tbilisi State University.

In 1995 she was awarded the academic title of Professor.

1995 – 2006 Head of the Department of Romano-Germanic Linguistics, Tbilisi State University.

From 2006 to the present – Visiting lecturer at the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University.

Since 2010, she has been teaching the course “Adaptation of Literary Text in Theatre and Cinema”, and at the Conservatory “Adaptation of Literary Text in Opera”.

2012– 2015 Full Professor at Tbilisi Humanitarian University.

2017– Acting Deputy Director of the Department of Art and Education of the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia.

2017 – 2018 Freelancer of the Georgian National Book Center.

Since September 1, 2017, Research Assistant at the Dimitri Janelidze Scientific Research Institute of the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University.

Since December 1, 2021, Senior Research Fellow at the Dimitri Janelidze Scientific Research Institute of the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University.

Participant of 22 international conferences and symposiums, participant of 12 local conferences. Author of 56 scientific papers (12 of them international scientific publications). Including the author of 2 monographs and one auxiliary textbook.

Significant creative achievements – monograph and supporting textbook “Adaptation of Literary Texts in Cinema and Theater (Theoretical and Practical Aspects). Publishing House “Kentavri”, 2021.

M. Paitchadze was awarded an Order of Dignity of Georgia, she is laureate of the Gold Medal of the Zurab Anjaparidze International Cultural Foundation.
