Davit Janelidze – Film director, Professor. Dean at the Film and TV Faculty

In 1980, he graduated from the Shota Rustaveli State Theater Institute, Film Directing Faculty.

Film director, member of the European Film Academy (EFA). Member of the Georgian Cinematographers' Union. Winner of the Grand Prix at three international film festivals (Alma-Ata 1986, Mannheim 1987, Montpellier 1992); has received prizes at the Riga, Munich, Jerusalem, Tbilisi, San Francisco, and Rotterdam international festivals.

Chairman and member of the jury of various international film festivals (Lodz, Baku, Batumi, Plovdiv, Tbilisi, etc.).

Founder, artistic director and director of several student and youth film festivals (“We Are Coming”, “Cecil”, “Amirani”).

Member of the commission for several creative competitions of the Georgian National Film Center.
