The 18th International Conference of Arts Researchers will be held on October 15–17, 2025. This year's key theme is “Art in the Context of Time.”
The theme addresses both historical and contemporary contexts and includes various fields such as theatre, cinema, media, visual arts, architecture, literature, music, and more. Presentations may offer interpretations of issues from either the past or the present era, such as:
- How does art reflect different historical periods and respond to contemporary social processes?
- How are today’s problems (ecology, social issues, technology) expressed in art, culture, and media? What might art look like in the age of artificial intelligence and virtual reality? What expands the boundaries of art (new materials, technologies, methods, and digital platforms)?
- A significant focus of the conference is to view art not only as a mirror of its era, but also as a shaper of its direction, a generator or amplifier of public discourse, and an agent of cultural and social change. The role of new media and digital technologies in transforming not just the form of art but also its impact and reach will also be explored.
The conference is open to professors, researchers, and doctoral students whose scientific interests align with the themes and directions of the event.
The presentation must represent original academic research and must not have been previously published or presented at another conference.
The conference will feature sections on theater studies, film studies, art history, musicology, choreography, and media studies. Additionally, there will be open-topic sections in the field of arts and sections on cultural tourism and arts management.
Conference proceedings will be published in the bilingual (Georgian-English) “International Journal of Arts and Media Researches” in both Georgian and English. Open-theme section papers will appear in the journal “Art Science Studies.”
