In 2007, the Master's Office was established at the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University . A separate Doctoral Office was also created. Later, both offices were merged into a single university structure.
The first intake for the Master's program took place in 2007, and for the Doctoral program in 2008.

In the field of Drama – Robert Sturua, Giorgi Margvelashvili, Temur Chkheidze, Shalva Gatserelia, Gizo Jordania;
In the field of Film – Aleksandre Rekhviashvili, Merab Kokochashvili, Kote Jandieri, Lomer Akhvlediani;
In the field of Folklore – Gomari Sikharulidze;
In the field of Choreography – Ucha Dvalishvili.
The first dissertation was defended in 2011.
Since 2012, a joint Department of Master's and Doctoral Studies has been established.
Since 2018, the Educational Process Management Department has been operating, which continues to administer teaching at both the Master's and Doctoral levels.
The Master's program lasts two years, with an annual tuition fee of 2,250 GEL. The Doctoral program lasts three years, with an annual tuition fee of 1,000 GEL.
