
Giorgi Kharebava – Associate Professor
Giorgi Kharebava is a film director and associate professor at the Shota Rustaveli State University of Theatre and Film of Georgia.
He received his higher education at the University of Theater and Cinema (1993–1998) and subsequently completed specialized courses at the National Film School of Rome and the University of Bologna. He is currently working on his doctoral dissertation entitled “Disruptions in film editing and their transformation into new cinema techniques”
From 2023 to 2025, he served as Head of Administration at the same university.
Since 2007, he has been the founder and director of the production company GFM Studio.
In 2015, he co-founded the AIP Association “Cinerama,” where he also serves as one of the leaders of the “Summer Youth Film School” project.
Since 2017, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the film studio Georgian Film.
In 2014, he co-authored the first Georgian-English / English-Georgian dictionary of film terms published in Georgia.
He has also contributed theoretical works to scientific and specialized journals.
Throughout his career, Professor Kharebava has lecturer at Javakhishvili State University, Caucasus Business School, and Caucasus International University.
He has also conducted workshops and master classes in Georgia, Armenia, Turkey, and Italy.
He is a participant and award winner at several international film festivals and has served as a jury member at numerous international festivals.
At present, he teaches television directing, New Equipment and Technologies at the Shota Rustaveli State University of Theatre and Film of Georgia.
