1983: Graduated from Tbilisi State Medical Institute, Faculty of Medicine, specializing as a physician-therapist.

1993: Graduated from the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in Moscow, Faculty of Screenwriting and Film Studies, specializing as a film scholar.

1986-1990: Served in various directorial capacities—assistant director, second director, and associate director—at "Georgian Film" studio.

1990-1993: Head of the Film Cabinet at the Shota Rustaveli Theatre Institute.

1993-2006: Senior research fellow in the Cinema Sector of the Scientific-Research Center at the Shota Rustaveli Theatre Institute.

1993 -2003: Senior lecturer at the Georgian Technical University, teaching courses on "History and Theory of Film Art."

2006 – present: Associate Professor at the Shota Rustaveli Georgian State University of Theatre and Film. They lecture on the history of world cinema, film theory and criticism, genre theory and genre analysis, and other related subjects. delivering advanced-level courses in: History of World Cinema, Film Theory and Criticism, Genre Theory and Genre Analysis, Additional areas within film studies.

2005: Defended a dissertation on the topic "Genre Trends in Georgian Cinema of the 1960s–1970s.".

Has actively participated in numerous national and international scholarly conferences. Author of over 60 peer-reviewed scholarly articles and more than 70 journalistic and editorial publications.
