In 2019, the Georgian-Jewish joint project, initiated by the Performing Arts Studio founded by Yoram Loewenstein and the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University, was carried out through a memorandum signed in 2018. The project was implemented in two stages.
In the first stage, in April 2019, students and directors of the Drama Faculty of Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University visited the Performing Arts Studio founded by Yoram Loewenstein in Tel Aviv. Following the project guidelines, students from both institutions presented pre-prepared scenes from Aristophanes's play "Lysistrata" (the scene of Kinesias and Myrrhine) in their native languages. For eight days, mixed groups of students and directors showcased the same scene, with each actor performing in their respective languages.
In the second stage, in July 2019, Jewish students and directors made a return visit to Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University in Tbilisi. During this phase, the project participants collaborated on a scene from William Shakespeare's play "The Taming of the Shrew" according to the same guidelines.
The co-production aimed to introduce and share different methodologies developed in drama schools while collaborating on a specific dramaturgical material. It aimed to facilitate a mutual exchange of professional experiences among students and professors, promoting intercultural dialogue and internationalization.
