Visit of Prof. Zviad Dolidze to Bulgaria

May–June 2025

This year's 12th International Film Festival, "Golden Linden," which focused on new European film, took place in the Bulgarian city of Stara Zagora from May 31 to June 4. Our university's professor Zviad Dolidze, who holds a doctorate in art criticism (film studies) and works as the dean of the Faculty of Art Sciences, Media, and Management, was invited to serve on the jury.

The film festival featured both competitive and non-competitive films, as well as a number of masterclasses and meetings with well-known Bulgarian actors, film exhibitions, workshops for children's animation, and other events. Five members of the jury, representing Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Germany, and Georgia, selected the winner of four nominations. The Bulgarian film "Before I Forget" won the Best Film award.

Zviad Dolidze had ties to the jury members, the film festival's organizers, and the guests. He emphasized the importance of strengthening Georgia-Bulgaria cultural and educational ties in a number of interviews with the local media and television.
